8g N2O Cream Chargers Bulk

AMOR Professional N2O Cream Chargers 120 X 8g

How to Choose Cream Chargers in Bulk?

All 8g chargers look alike, but they are not made to the same standard. Here is what to check before you buy a big case.
Look for pure, food-grade gas. Good chargers hold 100% food-grade nitrous oxide and nothing else. Cheap chargers can leave an oily film or a strange taste in your cream. Brands like iSi and Mosa clean each canister and weigh it by machine, so you get the same result every time.

Match the fill to your dispenser. One 8g charger charges a 0.5 litre (½ litre) dispenser. That is the culinary standard, so if you know your dispenser size, you know how many chargers a job needs. Some pro chargers hold a little more gas: iSi fills to 8.4g and Mosa Pro fills to 8.5g.

Check the fitting. Nearly all bulk chargers use the universal 8g screw-in thread, which fits most standard whippers. They do not fit older push-valve (Kisag) systems or the newer 16g dispensers, so double-check your whipper first.

Buy the right case size. The more you buy, the less you pay per charger. A busy café might go through a case a week, while a home baker may only need a small box. Bulk cases (like 120, 360 or 600 units) give you the lowest cost per charger and mean you never run out mid-service.

How Cream Chargers Work?

A cream charger is a small steel canister filled with nitrous oxide (N2O) under pressure. When you screw it into a whipper, the gas mixes into the cream. As you press the lever, the pressure drops and the gas puffs the cream into a light, stable foam.

There is a nice bonus, too. N2O is bacteriostatic, which means it slows the growth of bacteria. So a charged whipper kept in the fridge can hold fresh cream for up to two weeks. That helps busy kitchens cut waste and keep food costs down.

Top Brands We Stock in Bulk

Mosa. One of the best-known names in the world. Mosa is a listed company that makes its chargers in a modern factory in Taiwan, using pure Linde N2O gas. Each charger is filled with food-grade N2O, weighed by machine, and given a zinc coating to stop rust. Mosa and Mosa Pro (8.5g) fit all standard whippers.

iSi. An Austrian brand trusted by pro chefs. iSi Professional chargers hold exactly 8.4g of pure N2O, weighed one by one so there are no duds or overfills. They are residue-free and carry NSF, HACCP and HALAL approval. iSi says its tight seal helps you get up to 20% more yield from each charger.

Liss. A European maker with over 50 years in gas cylinders. Liss chargers hold 8g of pure food-grade N2O, are weighed by machine with a no-duds guarantee, and turn ½ litre of cream into up to 1.5 litres of whipped cream. A solid choice at a friendly price.

SmartWhip. For high-volume kitchens that want fewer swaps, SmartWhip makes larger N2O cylinders (around 615g to 640g). One cylinder does the work of roughly 80 to 85 standard 8g chargers. It uses a pressure regulator so you control exactly how much gas you release. Made and pressure-tested in Europe.

Fast Gas. Another large-format option. A Fast Gas 670g cylinder holds high-purity food-grade N2O and replaces about 84 single 8g chargers. Great for caterers and events where you do not want to reload often.

How to Use Cream Chargers?

  • Fill the dispenser. Pour cold whipping cream into your whipper. Leave some room for the gas. Add sugar or flavour now if you like.
  • Seal it. Screw the lid on tightly so no gas escapes.
  • Add the charger. Put an 8g charger in the holder and screw it onto the whipper until you hear a hiss.
  • Shake. Shake the whipper a few times to mix the gas into the cream.
  • Dispense. Turn it upside down, press the lever, and out comes your whipped cream.
  • Store or recycle. Keep leftovers upright in the fridge. Once the charger is empty, recycle the steel with your cans and tins.

Storage and Safety

Cream chargers are safe when you store and use them the right way.

  • Keep them cool. Do not store chargers above 50°C (122°F). They are filled at high pressure (about 60 bar), so heat is the main thing to avoid.
  • Keep them dry. Leave chargers in their box until you need them so moisture does not rust the tops.
  • Handle with care. A charger gets very cold when it is pierced. Make sure it is fully empty before you remove it from the whipper.
  • Do not overfill the whipper. Too much gas can force liquid out or damage the dispenser. Follow the maker's guide.

Is It Legal to Buy Cream Chargers in the UK?

Yes. Cream chargers are legal to buy and use for food and drink. Since 8 November 2023, nitrous oxide has been a Class C drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, but the law still allows lawful use for catering, medical and industrial work. The rules exist to stop people misusing the gas by inhaling it, which is dangerous and against the law.

We sell cream chargers for culinary use only, to customers aged 18 and over. If we think a product may be misused, we can refuse the sale. Used the right way, in a proper whipper, cream chargers are a safe and everyday kitchen tool.

FAQs

How many cream chargers do I need?
It depends on your dispenser and how much cream you whip. One 8g charger charges a 0.5 litre dispenser and turns that into up to 1.5 litres of whipped cream. A busy café often buys a full case so it never runs short.

Are these chargers food-grade?
Yes. Every charger we stock holds pure, food-grade N2O (additive E942). Brands like Mosa and iSi weigh and clean each canister so there is no oily residue or odd taste.

Do bulk cream chargers fit my whipper?
Almost certainly. They use the universal 8g screw thread that fits all standard whippers. They do not fit old push-valve (Kisag) systems or 16g dispensers, so check your whipper if you are unsure.

How long does whipped cream last in the whipper?
Because N2O slows bacteria, a charged whipper kept in the fridge can keep cream fresh for up to two weeks. Always follow good food-safety practice.

What is the difference between an 8g charger and a big cylinder?
An 8g charger does one 0.5 litre dispenser at a time. A large cylinder, like a SmartWhip or Fast Gas tank, holds far more gas and can refill a whipper again and again, roughly the same as 80 or more single chargers.

Can I recycle empty chargers?
Yes. They are 100% recyclable steel. Once fully empty, put them out with your steel cans and tins, or check your local council's guidance.

Do you offer trade or wholesale pricing?
Yes. Our bulk cases are priced for cafés, bakeries and catering teams. The larger the case, the lower the price per charger.
