Mr Whip Nitrous Oxide Cylinders
Mr Whip is a well-known name in UK nitrous oxide supplies. The brand has sold to professional kitchens since 2010, and its 640g N2O cylinders are a popular choice for cafés, bars, restaurants, catering teams and home cooks who need more capacity without swapping small chargers all the time. At Rapid Cream, we sell genuine, food-grade Mr Whip Infusions cylinders with fast UK delivery, so you don’t run low mid-service. Whether you’re topping desserts, making cocktail foams or infusing oils and spirits, a Mr Whip cylinder works with your existing cream whipper and a regulator.

What Is Mr Whip?
Mr Whip is a British nitrous oxide brand. It started out making 8g cream chargers in 2010, then moved into large 640g cylinders for kitchens that need more volume.
The brand's main product now is the Infusions range: a 640g N2O tank made for both professional and home use.
Mr Whip Infusions 640g N2O Cylinders
The Mr Whip Infusions cylinder is a large steel tank filled with 640g of food-grade N2O (additive E942). One cylinder holds the same amount of gas as more than 80 standard 8g chargers.
As a guide, one 640g cylinder is enough for around 64 drink servings — so it can cover a full bar shift or a day of dessert prep. Instead of swapping chargers one by one, you connect the cylinder through a regulator and refill your whipper as many times as you need.
Why Choose Mr Whip?
More Gas, Fewer Swaps
One 640g cylinder replaces over 80 individual 8g chargers. That means far fewer changes during a busy service, so you spend less time reloading and more time on the food and drink.
Steady Dispensing
A regulator controls the gas flow from the cylinder, giving you a steady, even release each time. This helps your cream or foam come out the same way every time, whether it's your first serving of the day or your fiftieth.
Food-Safe and Bacteriostatic
Every cylinder holds pure food-grade N2O (E942). This gas is bacteriostatic, meaning it helps stop bacteria growing. If you keep a charged whipper in the fridge, the cream inside can stay fresh for up to two weeks.
Recyclable Steel
The cylinder is made from steel that can be fully recycled. It's a one-use tank — once it's empty, you release any leftover gas through the nozzle, then recycle the steel.
What Can You Make With It?
A Mr Whip cylinder, used with a whipper and regulator, can make:
- Whipped cream for desserts, hot drinks and plated food
- Light foams and Espumas
- N2O-infused cocktails and mocktails
- Quick infusions in spirits, vinegars and oils
The same cylinder can be used for all of these, which is why it suits both kitchens and cocktail bars.
Mr Whip 640g vs Standard 8g Chargers
Standard 8g chargers work fine for small or occasional jobs, but each one is single-use, so you're swapping them constantly. A 640g Mr Whip cylinder holds far more gas, so you change tanks much less often — useful if you're going through cream or foam all day.
For lighter use, 8g chargers may still be the better fit. We stock those too, from brands including Mosa, Liss, iSi and SmartWhip.
What You Need to Use It
A Mr Whip cylinder doesn't work alone. You'll also need:
- A cream whipper or dispenser
- A compatible N2O pressure regulator
- A hose and adapter to connect the regulator to your whipper
These are sold separately. If you're not sure what you need, our team can help you find the right parts.
How to Use a Mr Whip 640g Cylinder
- Check the regulator valve is closed before you start.
- Screw the regulator onto the top of the tank, keeping it straight so the thread doesn't cross.
- Connect the hose to the regulator firmly, without forcing it.
- Attach the other end of the hose to your whipper and tighten it.
- Slowly turn the regulator knob to release gas into the whipper until you reach the right pressure, then close the valve.
- Once the cylinder is empty, use the nozzle to release any gas left inside, then recycle the steel tank.
Always follow the instructions that come with your own regulator and whipper. Handle the cylinder carefully — it holds gas under high pressure.

Safe Use, Storage and Recycling
Keep cylinders away from heat and from freezing conditions, and store them out of reach of children. The gas can be very cold as it escapes, so point the nozzle away from your hands and face when emptying a tank.
Only dispose of a cylinder once it's completely empty. Release any leftover gas with the nozzle first, then recycle the steel with your other metal recycling.
Nitrous Oxide and the Law in the UK
Since 8 November 2023, nitrous oxide has been a Class C drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. It's still legal to buy and sell for proper uses, such as food and drink preparation. It's only illegal to have or supply it for inhaling to get high.
We sell Mr Whip products for cooking use only. You must be 18 or over to buy, and we won't knowingly sell to anyone we think intends to misuse them.
Why Buy Mr Whip from Rapid Cream?
We're a UK supplier used by home bakers, cafés and catering businesses. Every Mr Whip cylinder we sell is genuine and food-grade.
We also stock other leading brands, including SmartWhip, Mosa, Liss, iSi and Fast Gas, plus standard 8g chargers, bulk cylinders, whipper dispensers and CO2 cartridges. Ask our team if you need help choosing between an 8g charger and a 640g cylinder, or picking the right regulator.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Mr Whip used for?
Mr Whip cylinders hold food-grade nitrous oxide for cooking use. They're used to whip cream, make foams and Espumas, create N2O-infused cocktails, and infuse spirits, vinegars and oils.
Is Mr Whip suitable for commercial use?
Yes. The Infusions cylinders are made for busy settings like restaurants, bars, cafés and commercial kitchens, as well as home users who want more capacity.
How is it different from an 8g cream charger?
One 640g cylinder holds as much gas as more than 80 standard 8g chargers, so you refill your whipper many times before you need a new tank.
Do I need extra equipment to use it?
Yes — a cream whipper, a compatible N2O regulator, and a hose with an adapter. These are sold separately from the cylinder.
Can I refill a Mr Whip cylinder?
No, it's non-refillable. Once it's empty, release any leftover gas using the nozzle, then recycle the steel.
How long does whipped cream stay fresh?
Because the gas is bacteriostatic, it helps stop bacteria growing. A charged whipper kept in the fridge can stay fresh for up to two weeks.
Are Mr Whip cylinders legal in the UK?
Yes, for proper food and drink use. Nitrous oxide has been a Class C drug since 8 November 2023, so it's illegal to have or supply it for inhaling. You must be 18 or over to buy.
